During the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery we are calling on the Australian government to prioritise and fund Space For Health.
We want places where health is built into our daily lives, our homes, our work places, our streets and our cities. Space to walk safely. Space to cycle safely. Space for the economy to survive and thrive. We know better, so we can do better. That is why we are calling for Space For Health. |
We face an unprecedented situation, and the opportunity to prioritise economic stimulus projects that will enable physical distance, the economy to restart, and the Australian Government Climate Change target.
(1) In order to abide by the Australian Department of Health recommendations to maintain 1.5 metres, we require space for people to exercise and, when allowed, space to travel to schools, work, and shops safely.
(2) Fast-tracked projects should focus on local projects that enable more small and medium businesses and all councils to receive funding to deliver construction projects benefiting a greater number of Australian residents.
(3) Economic stimulus funding can help deliver the Australian Government Climate Change target, thus delivering a brighter future for our children, grandchildren, and long-term sustainability.
